The child at the heart of Les Petits Gaulois
At the heart of every learning experience is the child — an independent, confident, and unique individual. At Les Petits Gaulois, every child is an active participant in their own learning journey. They take ownership of their education, exploring ideas and solving problems with curiosity and resilience. As they navigate successes and challenges, their confidence grows, empowering them to take risks, express themselves, and embrace new opportunities - fueling their continued growth and discovery.

Pedagogy
At Les Petits Gaulois, our teachers carefully design a variety of learning experiences - ranging from play and problem-solving to hands-on exploration and project work - adapting their methods to suit the needs of both the group and the individual child.
For our younger learners, particular emphasis is placed on observation and imitation. By watching and interacting with peers and adults, children develop empathy, consider different perspectives, and become part of a supportive, caring learning community.
Our teaching team collaborates closely to build a shared repertoire of practices, tools, and resources - including books, toys, games, and learning aids - to create a cohesive and engaging classroom environment.
Problem solving, independence, and enquiry-based learning are at the heart of our approach and we focus on five key modes of learning:
Learning through play
Learning by thinking and solving problems
Learning through enquiry and questioning the world
Learning by doing and practising
Learning by remembering and building knowledge over time
Teacher to Student Ratio
At Les Petits Gaulois we value each child individually and want to focus on their strengths and areas of interest
To ensure each child receives personalised attention, we maintain small class sizes with a maximum of 14 children per class. Our student-to-teacher ratios vary by level as follows:
Playgroup: 1 to 6
Nursery 1: 1 to 6
Nursery 2: 1 to 8
Kindergarten 1: 1 to 14
Kindergarten 2: 1 to 14

Les Petits Gaulois' 4C Model

Curiosity
Curiosity is the natural driving force behind learning.
For young children, it isn't just about asking questions, but is expressed through exploration
and discovery of the world
around them.

Creativity
Creativity is essential to a child's cognitive, emotional, and social development. It is not limited to art or imagination, but also encompasses the ability to think critically.

Confidence
Confidence is a cornerstone of healthy development, and cultivating it from an early age sets children up for future success.

Continuity
Continuity in a child's development refers to consistent experiences and steady progress over time. At Les Petits Gaulois, continuity plays a vital role.
